About TOVE

Tove in Sedona Arizona

Tove and I found each other in November 2014, a fateful day that began our journey together. I adopted her from a local shelter, where she had been left by previous owners, her age estimated to be around two or three years. From the start, Tove became much more than a pet—she became my best friend and constant companion, bringing joy, loyalty, and love to every day we shared.

Over the ten years we had together, Tove and I explored life with an adventurous spirit. We hiked winding trails, went on road trips, and took countless “pupper walks” (a phrase she quickly learned and loved). Meeting new people was her specialty; everyone instantly adored Tove, and in later years, I used to joke that I was just her background handler, there to support her as she worked her charm.

In early 2024, Tove’s health began to decline, and we had to set aside our beloved hikes. Yet, even in her final days, she remained the bright, spirited companion she’d always been. When we had to part ways, it was only in the physical sense—her spirit has stayed with me, a steadfast presence that continues to inspire me each day.

Tove taught me the true meaning of unconditional love, something I hadn’t fully known until she came into my life. She left an indelible mark on my heart, and her legacy lives on as a guiding light in my journey. Her memory fuels my desire to honor her life by creating something beautiful and lasting—an invitation to others to connect with their own inner journeys, just as Tove inspired mine. In her memory, I strive to celebrate the love, loyalty, and joy she shared, carrying her spirit forward as a reminder to live mindfully and love deeply.

About Erick

Hello, I’m Erick Rook, the founder of House of Attilius. My journey is woven from threads of creativity, spiritual exploration, and a profound desire to inspire others to uncover their true potential.

From an early foundation in art, creative writing, and screenwriting, to a deep reverence for ancient Japanese philosophy, my path has been one of discovery, marked by the union of mindfulness and creativity. Along the way, I’ve explored the fluid movements of Qigong, the powerful discipline of Muay Thai, the meditative elegance of Shodo calligraphy, and the awe of capturing nature’s landscapes through photography. These pursuits are more than creative outlets; they are practices that still and strengthen my mind, inviting reflection and resilience.

Driven by the belief that true transformation begins within, my passion lies in the synergy of art and mindfulness. Each stroke of the pen, each movement, and each moment spent in nature becomes an exercise in presence—a way to connect more deeply with the world and with myself. I am guided by authenticity, compassion, and an insatiable curiosity, trusting that these values lead us ever closer to ‘home,’ where our truest selves reside.

Through House of Attilius, I hope to offer others a glimpse into the power of this journey—one where creativity becomes a bridge to self-discovery and each experience becomes an opportunity to grow, reflect, and reconnect.

Whatever we keep pursuing with our thinking and pondering, that becomes the inclination of our awareness.
