Emotional trauma has insidious effects on our health, which have been less recognized and undertreated.

MABU: HORSE STANCE

Mabu is a commonly used stance among Martial Artists and Qigong practitioners. It is designed to develop our root, center, balance, and strengthen the legs.

In the context of this stance, we will focus on three styles – Southern and Northern Martial Styles, as well as Qigong Style.

  • Southern style requires a narrower stance due to its emphasis on short range fighting.
  • Northern style which emphasizes long range techniques and therefore requires a wider stance.
  • For Qigong, the goal is to find our natural comfort level so we can find our center and balance easier.
